Our History
In 1972, Jack Cynamon and Alan Green, two tailors from the East End of London, started in business together making clothes. Their skills and strength in clothing design and production resulted in a series of successful womenswear collections. In 1977 they created a range of co-ordinated fashion for the discerning woman.
The company, expanded into a multi-branded fashion-retailing group in December 2002 with the acquisition of William Baird Plc. This added three further womenswear labels - Planet, Precis and Windsmoor. Windsmoor was established back in 1933.
The four brands under the Jacques Vert umbrella are now retailed in over 1000 outlets. While the majority of these are located within the UK, the brands are also sold in over thirty stores in Canada and in an expanding number of stores in the Republic of Ireland.
The Jacques Vert Head Office is based in Islington, London. Support operations, including warehousing, are located in the North East of England, in County Durham.
